A naturally occuring amino acid, Beta Alanine is a precursor to the important energy molecule Carnosine, and its availability may be the limiting factor in the carnosine production. In multiple studies, consistent supplemention with Beta Alanine has shown in increased intramuscular Carnosine levels. For the athlete, increased Carnosine levels from Beta Alanine may lead to increased endurance and lowerd perception of fatigue, and in high intensity resistance exercise improved muscle pump. Bodybuilders in particular apprecaiate Beta Alanines ability to balance intramuscular ph, allowing completion of more reps, and less fatigue.
